It's one of the few days in life where all of the people you love most are gathered together in one place, sharing laughter, happy tears and moments you'll wish you could relive forever. That's why I do what I do. I don't just photograph weddings—I tell love stories through honest, timeless images that allow you to step back into those memories for years to come.
 

Hi, I'm Jay, the face behind Shutter Monkeys Media. For over ten years, I've had a camera in my hands, photographing everything from dramatic Scottish landscapes and local businesses to food, families and sport. But it wasn't until I started second shooting alongside other wedding photographers that I discovered where I truly belonged. From that very first wedding, I was completely hooked.
 

What I love most about wedding photography isn't the perfectly posed portraits or the carefully planned details—it's the moments that happen naturally. The squeeze of a hand during the ceremony. The uncontrollable laughter during the speeches. The look on a parent's face as they watch their child get married. Those are the moments that tell the real story of your day, and they're the ones that deserve to be remembered.

Photographs become more valuable with every passing year. Long after the flowers have faded and the music has stopped, they'll bring you back to the people you love, the emotions you felt, and the little moments you might not even remember happening. Knowing that I get to preserve those memories for future generations is something I'll never take for granted.
 

My approach is relaxed and unobtrusive. I want you to spend your wedding day celebrating with the people who matter most, not worrying about the camera. By quietly blending into the background, I'm able to capture authentic moments as they unfold, creating a genuine visual story that's uniquely yours.
 

When I'm not photographing weddings across Glasgow, Ayrshire and Scotland, you'll probably find me singing far too loudly to Wham! while editing galleries, or spending time with my soulmate Chloe, who keeps Shutter Monkeys Media running behind the scenes and is usually the friendly face replying to your emails, Together with our three much-loved dogs—Bear, Honey and Baby. I genuinely care about every couple I have the privilege of working with.
